Somatics for Pregnancy, Birth, & Postpartum

Before I began my training as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, I was a homebirth midwife. Holding space for grief, trauma and transition was an integral and important part of my role in the births I attended and all my work with pregnant and postpartum people.

Somatics is an organic and powerful tool before, during, and after birth. When I decided to deepen my learning and skills as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, I assumed I would use them as a midwife. However, I am taking an extended break from midwifery.

I am passionate about helping parents bring their somatic wisdom into preparing for birth, postpartum and parenting. This includes working with past grief and trauma, preparing somatically for birth and/or working postpartum with integrating a recent or past birth. Regardless of whether a birth experience was traumatic, difficult, or just needs integrating, Somatics can be a powerful tool in the postpartum period.
